INDIA
ESTABLISHMENT OF A COMMUNITY :
Indian history begins with the birth of the Indus Valley Civilization and the coming of the Aryans. These
two phases are usually described as the pre-Vedic and Vedic age. Hinduism arose in the Vedic period.
Islam came to India for the first time and by the eleventh century had firmly established itself in India as
a political force. It resulted into the formation of the Delhi Sultanate under which India once again
achieved a large measure of political unity.
URBAN WATER CYCLE:
People working for Integrated Urban Water Management project are currently developing a framework
for integrated urban water management for all urban areas in India. Their aim is to study the urban
water cycle and to promote equity and sustainability. They are looking at different strategies available,
and a matrix of solutions from which a solution can be picked up for an urban setting depending upon
the classification of town/city.
SEAS, BAYS, RIVERS AND GULFS:
Andaman sea, Arabian sea, Bay of Bengal, Red Sea, Java Sea, Persian Gulf, Sea of Zanj, Mahanadi River,
Godavari River.
SPAIN
ESTABLISHMENT OF A COMMUNITY :
The first to appear were the Iberians, a Libyan people, who came from the south. Later came the Celts
and from the merging of the two there arose a new race, the Celtiberians gave their name to their
respective homelands. The next to arrive, attracted by mining wealth, were the Phoenicians, who
founded a number of trading posts along the coast, the most important being that of Cadiz. After this
came Greek settlers, who founded several towns, including Rosas, Ampurias and Sagunto.
URBAN WATER CYCLE:

natural storage areas, it is manipulated to make it potable and treating the wastewater

URBAN WATER CYCLE:

Water is retained within the urban system for a longer time than in natural storage areas, it is manipulated to make it potable and treating the wastewater

artificially to remove the nutrients and pollutants to minimize the impact on the receiving water bodies. Fresh water is manipulated to make it potable and wastewater is treating to remove nutrients and pollutants in order to minimize the impact on the receiving water bodies. Once water enters the system, it is stored and treated, distributed into the area, collected after the use, treated and discharged into the environment. Not all water that enters into the system is discharged, because there are some steps of the process where water is used by the population or infiltrated into the soil and consequently into the groundwater.

SEAS, BAYS, RIVERS AND GULFS:

Mediterranean Sea, Bay of Biscay, Lake Sanabria, Tagus River, Canales Reservoir.
