In today's modern world, communication has changed a lot because of technology. Now, people use email and texting to talk to friends instead of meeting face-to-face. Some say this is not good for our social life. I mostly agree with this opinion, but I also think it has some good points. In fact, the media has had a negative impact on our social lives. First of all, Email and texting have made it easier to talk to friends because we can send messages quickly and talk to many friends at the same time. But this also means that we can't see their faces and voices directly and haven't really connected with them yet. When we meet friends, we can talk face to face and have a good time together. This helps us understand each other better. For example, in the summer semester I studied karate with a friend, we practice face-to-face every day, we are very close. Now, after finishing the course, we don't have many opportunities to see each other so we switch to talking online. It is clear that our friendship is not as strong as before. Besides, too much online communication will make us dependent on it and make it difficult to talk in real life. For example, there are many people who are very happy and sociable when texting, but when they meet face-to-face, they are shy and do not know what to say to their friends. On the other hand, these new ways of talking have some good points. It helps us stay in touch with friends who live far away. My cousin lives in another city, and I can still talk to her. In addition, it is also good when we need a quick answer. However, if we only use email and text messages, it will weaken the friendship.
In my opinion, balance is important. We should use email and texting to stay connected, but we should also make time to meet our friends in person. This way, we can plan a dinner or an outing face-to-face with friends from email or text. This will help keep our social relationships strong and happy. To sum up, email and texting have changed the way we talk to our friends. It has a negative impact on our lives, like spending less time together, but there are also some good points about keeping in touch with distant friends. I believe we should use technology to help us stay connected, but we should also remember the value of face-to-face time with friends.
