Charles Rennie Mackintosh, born in Glasgow in 1868, was Scotland's most famous architect, known for his innovative designs that clothed modern ideas with modern dress. his life, works, and influences, including his collaboration with artist Margaret Macdonald, his radical ideas, and his notable buildings such as Hill House, Windy Hill, and Scotland Street School. Mackintosh's designs were inspired by Japanese philosophy, European Art Nouveau, local Scottish castles, education, religion, private houses, and business.
