Usability Analysis: Palm Pilot Prototype Testing, Study notes of Engineering

A usability analysis of a palm pilot prototype, detailing four tasks for users to complete. The goals of these tasks include evaluating the interface, navigating through the palm pilot, ensuring the site matches user expectations, and testing navigation in different cities. The expected navigation paths for each task are also provided. However, the results of the testing showed that the user was unable to complete all tasks, expressing dissatisfaction with the limited hotel options and inability to navigate to a different city.

Failed baseline criteria!

100% of the tasks were not completed.

Task 3 proved that the prototype did not do what it was intended to do. The user found that hotels were limited to just Days Inn. Also no phone numbers or addresses were provided at all.

Task 4 does not meet real world conventions, the user expected to be able to find information on a different city than Atlanta.

Unhappy user at times throughout test.

Prototype Rejected!
