DEFINITION 10 A system by which a society RANKS CATEGORIES of people in a hierarchy. 1.It is a trait of society- most think rank is result of personal work 2.Persists of Generations- social level passed down 3.Universal but variable- social inequality found everywhere 4.Involves beliefs- what is considered unequal and why differs from society to society.

socialism

Collective ownership of property -limits rights to private ownership -controls property and makes housing and other goods available to all. Pursuit of collective goals -the entrepreneurial spirit is seen as greed -people are encouraged to work towards a common goal for all not just self. Government control of economy -favors a centrally controlled economy operated by government.
