  • The head of the government, figurehead of the United States

Chief Executive

  • Constitution empowers the president to enforce the laws (with limitations)

Chief Diplomat

  • The President is the leader,

initiator, and guide of our

foreign policy.

Commander in

Chief

  • The President is head of all the military forces. He is responsible for raising, training, supervising, and deploying all the defense forces.

Chief of Party

  • The President is the leader

of his own political party

as long as he is President.

Chief Citizen

  • The President's job is to represent the people and to work for the public interest. As a representative of the nation's people, the president automatically assumes the role of its chief citizen, or popular leader.
