The Puritans ✔✔•Charles I became King of England in 1625
•Puritans wanted to change the way the English Church was run
•Were called the Puritans because they wanted to make the church purer and simpler
•The king sent some to prison and others were hanged
Massachusetts Bay Colony ✔✔•In 1630, the Puritans got King Charles' approval and about 1,000 Puritans sailed for Massachusetts to start their own colony
