Focus: The purpose of this assignment is for you to demonstrate the technical writing skills you
have developed through the previous assignments and revisions. This assignment does not
include examples and explicit instructions part of your job is to decide what needs to be
included in order to fully and completely answer the question.
Assignment:
Since 2001, a desirable mountain town in Colorado has been experiencing a boom in people
moving into the area. The population, in thousands, P, of this town is given by the function:
P(t) = 2.6(1.047)t
The amount of housing available is given by the function:
H(t) = 4.5 + 0.224t
where H is the number of people in thousands that can be housed and t represents the time in
years since 2001. Will there be a housing shortage? If so, when? What will the population be at
that time? Explain/Justify all answers!!!
