POLS 2401 Global Issues – Exam 1 study guide (two quizzes, objective and short answer)
See syllabus for exam dates (each quiz 30 minutes)
The following terms will help you prepare for the exam. Make sure that you are familiar with definitions
as well as with examples for the various terms and also think about how the terms link together and
what the wider context is within which the concepts had been discussed. Only memorizing definitions of
the following terms will not be sufficient!
Remember, you must take the exam alone (don’t have anyone else in the room), not be distracted by
anything (your phone must be switched off) have your computer on a stable surface (do not lie on your
bed or have computer on your lap, it will wobble and move your head and make you look like you’re
cheating); you are not allowed to share the exam questions with anyone, not during and not after the
exam; and you must have your face visible (all of your face) for the duration of the exam. For the
multiple-choice portion, do not move your eyes from the screen or it might look like you are cheating
and you will get a 0 on the exam and can fail the course. But, I understand things can go wrong, so if you
do get interrupted or something happens, don’t panic, just speak in the camera and then email me after
the exam.
Materials for exam:
Module 1, Key Concepts and Ideas
oThis includes the courseware units, attendance videos and discussion
Module 2, international security
