DEFINITION 2 :In 2011 a revolutionary wave hit the neighboring nations around syria , the people wanted democratic leadership. The Al Assad family , who ruled syria since the 70s refused to step down. This led to protest and the government responded with violence, with the civil war going on it was easier for Isis( a militaristic jihadist group to come in). The syrians civilians were trapped in between the Al Assad regime , the rebel group and the religious extremists. Some of the refugees escaped to neighboring countries and a majority of them tried to flee to Europe illegally. TERM 3
DEFINITION 3 On November 13 of last year. Isis claimed responsibility for an attack that killed more than a 100 people and left many more injured. A few days later 31 governors say said refugees are not welcome to their states among them is Maryland governor Larry Hogan.This announcement came after authorities announced that they believe at least one the people responsible for the paris attack entered europe among the current wave of syrian refugees. At the G summit last year President Obama said When I hear folks say that: Well, maybe we should just admit the Christians but not the Muslims, when I hear political leaders suggesting that there would be a religious test for which person whos fleeing from a war-torn country is admitted, when some of those folks themselves come from families who benefited from protection when They were fleeing political persecution, thats shameful, TERM 4
DEFINITION 4 Thats not American. Thats not who we are. We dont have religious tests to our compassion... Even though Legally the acceptance of syrian refugees is not up to the states but the federal government ,individual states could make the process more difficult. Some states could even cut the funding used to resettle refugees. Just a few days after the tragic attack in Paris , President of France said they would be still accepting tens of thousands of syrian refugees into their country. France was just one of the countries on this long list that keeps getting longer. TERM 5

The bill would require additional FBI background checks and sign-offs from three high-ranking U.S. officials.
