DEFINITION 1 Poverty:Introduction:Kia ora talofa lava, and greetings to you all my name is Siose Lokeni and today i will be sharing a speech with you about poverty in New Zealand and also about poverty around the globe. TERM 2
DEFINITION 2 What is poverty?Poverty is a serious matter, poverty is serious, almost 295,000 kids in New Zealand are spending their childhood living in poverty, this is because there is not enough help available. When a child grows up in poverty they miss out on things that most New Zealanders take for granted. They are living in cold and damp areas, overcrowded houses, they don't have rainproof clothing, their shoes are worn out and many days they get hungry for food and thirsty for water. That will mean that they will probably do poorly in school, not getting a job and living a life as a criminal. TERM 3
DEFINITION 3 These children living in poverty develop higher and more pressing health needs. These children deserve to be just like us but instead they are out there living by themselves with nothing to keep them alive. TERM 4
DEFINITION 4 The kids that are living in the streets often die because they are attacked at night, or maybe they just starve to death, the point is that these kids living in our community should be treated like everyone else, we are all the same we should be all living in nice warm and dry houses but instead there are still kids out there with no place to go.
