NAME: Gaurav Chahar ROLL NO: A BATCH: 2 ND^ YEAR B.A., L.L.B (Hons) SOCIOLOGY SEMINAR PAPER TOPIC: Bullying at school campus: A comparative study of Indian and Peruvian schooling system
It is quite common to face certain kind of people in school, who have the tendencies to abuse or cause harm to any other class mate to whom they find weaker in terms of mainly physical strength or who don’t fall in their definition of coolness. Adults don’t give so much stress on these problem as majority feels these cases of their children getting bullied is kind boys will be boys kind of thing (Peter K. Smith, Suresh Sundaram, Barbara A. Spears, 2018).^1 Teachers end up with giving some sort of slight punishment to children as generally a class get only 40 minutes for one subject and other words teacher don’t have enough time to deal with this current issue. The author tried to deal with this problem by coming up with new solution which can be applied in any teenage student life to make them comfortable about this problem to seek help from parents, teachers and other students (Phillip T. Slee, 2016).^2 The victims of bulling are kind of similar in some or other way if we look up on the psychology. Cyber space is a new place of interaction developed in recent years. some of the people loves to spend more time on internet than in the real world as it is kind of more comfortable for them in that senecio the most important factor comes into play is about their privacy and cyber security (^1) Peter K. (Phillip T. Slee, Grace Skrzypiec, Carmel Cefai, 2018).^3 It is very important for people to understand that the basic information about these topics must be provided to all kids of present era as they are innocent and knows very less about cybercrime and security breach issues. In present time it’s very common to get trapped various dangerous enchanting which can ruin a kids life. Hence it’s a responsibility of a school teacher or a parent to understand these issues and educate them about these cyber threats. Bullying is very common among teenager specially in age group of 14 to 20 at an insane rate of growth is shown in these cases from last 3 years (Aditi Gyanesh, 2017).^4 As the very nature of society is different from its previous one as people from small towns moving towards cities. In present competing environment parents work very hard to earn a livelihood for their family and that’s why it is kind of hard for them find any time for their families and specially their kids. In this book author introduced readers to various problem which an average teenage kid face while their school life. As it is kind of horrific a teenager to deal with this all on its own. This book introduces some of the ways how to cope up with peer pressure and to survive in class even if the student is uncool in view of their peer groups. The physical and psychological harassment from which an adolescent student go through are kind of invisible to people of other age groups. Even those who have faced these problems in their own childhood or that school while they were adolescence but now they feels that these are not important issues to deal with. The author haven’t given more emphasis on individual level of to protect but on the policies of different administrative bodies governing different academic bodies (Anita Gujral, 2019).^5 This book gives (^3) Phillip T. cases ended up in some very simple preventive measures on breach of these measures resulted in some sort humongous problem which was very difficult to be resolved. (Nandini tiyagi, 2013)^9 This article of the wire podcast is based on an abstract of a school teacher in who’s view the the problem which we find at macroscopic level in our every day life can also be found in a class room simple if look closely we will surely find some these problems effecting some portion of class. Class room is an exact example to demonstrate the model of politics prevailing in a country. As a teacher tells the team of the wire that there are many instance to be seen in a class classifies as an act of bullying as some of the student being different as per their views, opinion or understanding levels. Some of students based these factors classified less smart or dumb kind of students These student always face some kind of bulling and harassment cases in everyday life by teacher and students are many times they being easy target of mockery in class. (Rochana Mohan, 2019 )^10 When anything unfortunate happens somewhere to people at someplace some people are always can be held responsible for that either it is the regulation bodies, govt. authorities or the party causing damage but in this case no one can be held liable for the damage being caused by some one as one principal guideline being provided to govt. by any court on this issue. There is no govt. policy on this issue as in case if some children cause damage to other child their will be no liability as being under the age of 18 years as it would be impossible for a minor to develope any sort of mind set to cause harm to his class mate with an criminal intent so it can be clearly excepted that our education system don’t have any organized policies for guidelines for schools to deal with the problem of bulling. In cases of Calcutta bulling has gone to next level some student beating their class mates in name of his caste as the student getting beaten up belongs to backward caste. The student was beaten black and blue by students than when he tried to complain about it again beaten up by his class teacher and which eventually caused his death. This incident have given birth to a political debate around the country and the focus from bulling shifted to caste and then to politics. The author tried to high light the necessity for introduction of legislation which specifically deals with the problem of bulling in this country. (Diva Rai, 2019)^12 Report by U.N. on child bulling as shown rampant account of increase in the abuse rate by the perpetrators as classmate, peer groups and teacher. Its an important upcoming challenge for local and school authorities to deal with the bulling problem as it leaves harsh marks of aftermaths of being bullied in childhood as a child because its very difficult for someone to face reality and face it in a fearless way with provide suggestion to deal with them. (UNSCO Publishing, 2019)^13 The fearless people or citizens of a nation makes a very good and happening democracy to change destiny of nation requires change in the habits of its country men well in present scenario where schools are producing students living in constant fear from his teacher. Fearless people have created great empires around the globe, people only those who were fearless have turned history of this globe many times now a question arises in minds whether our country deserve good citizens with better capacities it is necessary for us to understand the importance of fearlessness. (UNSCO Publishing, 2017)^14 It a article written by Divya deals with the anti-bulling law of our country there is no specific provision which deals with this problem of bulling as per but most of the form of cyber bulling issues can be easily be resolved by the information technology act .Some (^12) Priyanshi Gupta, Bullying and its Impact on Young Minds,The Live Love Laugh Foundation, 31st (^) , Aug, 2018, https://www.thelivelovelaughfoundation.org/bullying.html (^13) Diva Rai, Anti-Bullying Laws in India, ipleaders, july,10,2019, https://blog.ipleaders.in/bullying/ (^14) School violence and bullying: global status report, United Nation Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization, 2017, UNSCO Publishing
