The top of the page offers the user a Yahoo search engine. There is a little icon a green asterisk speaking bubble to draw your attention to Yahoo! Answers. Below the initial header bar are many things. Reading the Page from Left to right: First, an alphabetized menu-bar with icons. This one goes from A-Y (Autos to Yellow Ages) and below this is a button for “More Yahoo! Services’. The icons are cute, although they are small and a little hard to recognize without reading the text that is next to them, I would have no idea that GAMES is what it is without the text, same for PHOTOS and MOVIES. In the middle of the page shows different tabs for Features, Entertainment, Sports, and Life. There are some small icons, again used WITH text for PLAY VIDEO and VIEW PHO- TOS. Hard to see are thumbnail type icons for each of the headline stories. On the right hand side is another menu bard which is customizable offering both text and icons: MAIL, MESSENGER, RADIO, WEATHER, LOCAL and HOROSCOPES. Yahoo uses enough white space and small enough icons, although not recognizable without the words so that the homepage is successfully laid out for such an incredible amount of information needed.
