Question No. 1 (10 points) Encircle correct answers as Yes or No. Wrong answer will carry negative (-1) marks.
1 Entities that are separable from the rest of the universe (we call this the environment) by a physical or conceptual boundaries, make a system
2 A system is a set of elements that are united by some interactions or inter-dependences to perform at least one specified function.
3 A system element is a component, a part and/or a sub-system that performs one particular function or a process.
4 The state maintaining systems try to react to changing conditions in such a manner that they maintain some predetermined state.
Question No. 3 (10 points) Convert the following model into a standard form and identify its main features:
2
dt
d y y y
; y(0) = 0., y(1) = 6.
Question No. 4 (10 points)
Consider an RL series circuit connected to a battary. The R = 20 ohms and L = 10 henry. The voltage of battary is constant and have value of 10 volts. At time t = 0, the battery is connect. Develop a mathematical model for such an electrical system. First Solve it analytically. Then draw its patch diagram for MATLAB/SIMULINK. What kind of result you expect? Draw a rough graph.
