Definitions

  • Problem
    • A condition regarded as unacceptable
    • Problem solved by finding way to change the condition for the better
  • Issue
    • A matter about which informed people disagree
    • Issue is resolved by finding out which view is more reasonable
  • Thesis Statement
    • A one sentence summary of the writer’s argument
    • A main point to be supported by good reasons and evidence
