1. DEPARTMENT: Theatre and Dance
2. Full and exact title of program, with name of major for options: Theatre Arts BA, Dance Minor
3. PURPOSE of the proposed revision: Newer courses being offered more frequently now, so older
courses in the Core electives cannot be offered due to budget. Expanding the Fundamental and
Core elective areas with new Lower Division Dance Option courses that will be offered instead of
courses related to delayed Option in Integrative Dance.
4. List of all program requirements including prerequisites and courses. A comparison of the existing
and proposed portions of the program must be provided. This should be done by copying and pasting
the existing catalog section(s) and revising by indicating deleted text using strikethrough (deleted
text), and added text using underline (added text). For sections that are heavily revised, strikethrough
the entire pertinent text section (text) and enter the new text underneath indicated by underline.
Total required units in both old and new programs must be included even if there is no change.

C. Performance Technique Competencies (6 units) Students must take a minimum of five courses, all with a minimum grade of B, to demonstrate competency in two of the following techniques at the beginning and intermediate level, as well as one of the same techniques at the advanced level: hip hop, modern, jazz, and ballet. At least on one advanced course must be taken at CSUEB. complete the competencies listed below by taking technique courses in ballet, modern, or jazz dance. Two beginning classes (2 units) Two intermediate classes (2 units) One advanced class (2 units) D. Performance and Production Courses (4 units) Two production assignments required. For each assignment, enroll for a minimum of two (2) units from Theatre Production Activity courses by advisement.
