CITA340 – Project 1 Deliverable 3
Deliverable 3:
This deliverable will consist of two parts: the data dictionary and an updated ER model.
a. The data dictionary is a table which lists the entities and the attributes for each
entity. For each attribute, a short explanation of the attribute’s purpose / contents
and its domain (range of values) is also listed. The data dictionary also notes
whether the attribute is a primary key or foreign key (and the table referenced by
the foreign key). Composite entities which are added between M:N relationships
are included in the data dictionary. If it is necessary to add a new entity (which
was not listed in your Deliverable 2), note why it was added and explain its
purpose.
A sample data dictionary is on p. 79 of the course textbook.
Remember, when naming attributes, choose a naming convention and be
consistent with it. Do not use spaces in the names of your attributes.
b. An updated ER model with any new entities. Note that the attributes are not
included in the ERD yet but will be in the ERD you do for Deliverable 4.
