Prefixes un and dis
A prefix is a letter or group of letters added at the beginning of a root
word that creates a new word with a different meaning.
The mis- prefix gives these root words a negative meaning.
‘Mis-’ means wrong.
The dis- prefix is usually added to verb root words to give a
negative meaning. ‘Dis-’ means opposite or not.
Task: Find the appropriate challenge for you. Draw out the table
in your book and write the word with the prefix. There is then a
challenge for you to add your own words and to write them in
sentences.

than one column they could fit into.
