Annotation #1
Enelow-Snyder,Sarah. “Teaching the next generation of Black horseback riders”
Washingtonpost.com, 2, Aug. 2022,
https://www.washingtonpost.com/magazine/2022/08/02/black-horseback-riders-history/
This article summarizes Ahesahmahk Dahn a black horseman, he has been for decades. He
talks about how cowboy culture was made by Hollywood, yet Dahn says this has been a tradition
that goes back centuries. He goes in-depth about his childhood and what led him to horse riding
at the City Ranch, he tells children stories about Black men working with horses. It also follows
Morgan 13, and Mariah 11, their parents discovered City Ranch and the girls fell in love and how
this affects their career path. Lastly, Brittaney Logan and her experience of how she was
introduced to the club and introduced it to her son with the outcome of a life-changing
experience for both. The source “Teaching the next generation of Blackhorseman riders” is
relevant since it was published in 2022, which brings awareness to hidden Black Culture. The
author of this source is clearly reliable due to her past work on an essay in the anthology “Horse
Girls”. I think this a great information source for people of color who want to get into horse
riding or are just curious about horses and their culture.
Annotation #2

This article answers a question about pianists that people don't often know. Tommasini, explains how every musician like violinists, clarinets, etc knows how to tune their own instrument and how it works. He goes on about how most musicians perform with their own instruments but pianists don’t because of the weight and size of moving a piano to a performance which causes them to just use a random one every time making them adjust to the new and different piano that they did not learn the piece on. He mentions many pianists like Mitsuko Uchida, Gilbert Kalish, Daniil Traifonov, and many more. I think this article from New York Times is a good source because it helps explain the cause of the question. There is evidence that supports the question and answers. The source is also recently made in 2020, so it has relevant content. I think this article is good to just read in your free time and tell people someone about the random fact you learn from this article, I will use this source to start a random conversation one day. Annotation # Freedman, Max. “What it means to be an entrepreneur” businessnewsdaily.com, 7, Jul. 2022, https://www.businessnewsdaily.com/7275-entrepreneurship-defined.html This article helps you understand the concept of being an entrepreneur and what they do on a daily basis.
