Results and interpretation

My subject scored a raw score of 265 in the attitude test. He is from Himachal Pradesh and so his score is compared to Haryana which is the nearest state in the norm given in the inventory. After comparison, his percentile came out to be in the range p100 – p95 which is a high level according to the interpretation table. Dimension wise interpretation score  Teaching profession – 45/  Classroom teaching – 41/  Child-centered practices – 47/  Educational process – 43/  Pupil – 39/  Teacher – 50/

  1. Teaching profession: My subject scored pretty high in the teaching profession, i.e., 45/60, 21/28 in favorable, and 24/32 in unfavorable. This means he has good thinking about the teaching profession but this is not his dream profession or you can say the first profession. he is quite confused about allowing his son to enter this profession which shows that he considers teaching as a good profession but at the same time he is quite insecure

participating in class because generally the bond between a teacher and student is based on how much the student participate in class and understands the teacher, there are only some teachers who are not polite enough which creates fear amongst student and they start judging other teachers on the same basis which creates a distance and their interest in class loses. To overcome this the only way is interacting with the teacher and expressing the issues faced by that individual this way of interaction and active participation will also make the backbenchers get the required attention in the classroom. Child-centered practices: My subject scored high in this dimension which shows he is much concerned about child-centered practices i.e.; he favors a learner-friendly system. But he believes that students should not be given the freedom to express their views in class, which is a bit contradictory. He feels that teachers should not scold or insult pupils in front of the class as this lowers the self-confidence of the child making him a subject of laughter and he may be teased or bullied by fellow mates due to such actions. He also feels that students should be allowed to apply whatever they learn as it makes them understand the concepts better. Suggestions: According to me, he should understand the fact that the student’s behavior and freedom of expressing their thoughts are very important to make teaching successful, the teacher must know what their pupil feel, are they even paying attention in the class or not and other doubts. So,

the teacher’s interference in the class is very important to make the environment disciplined and learning efficient. Educational process: He scored average in this dimension, 43/60. He believes that individual differences between students should be taken into concern during the class. He also agrees that there is an effect on learning if the student is aware of his performance. But he is confused about the statement that a student’s moral values and personality depend on the teacher. Suggestions: My subject should understand that using teaching aids during teaching boosts the teaching process, gives teaching a creative form that seems exciting and students can understand things more clearly with charts, maps, etc. which makes it easier for them to understand and grasp things easily. Pupil My subject scored an average score of 39/60 in this dimension. He feels that if a student does not understand the assignment, then it is not the fault of the teacher, He gets pleased when mischievous students get beaten. And he also agrees that students can do anything to excel in exams. Suggestions: He should understand that the teacher must explain the assignment thoroughly to the students, now it is well known that many students don’t come forward to ask their doubts in class

dependent on the question and the student's thinking skills. Learning outcomes 1. To administer the teacher attitude inventory.

  1. To score the test using the answer key.
  2. to interpret the teaching attitude of the subject toward teaching.
