CE 3700 - 01 Assignment 3 A problem in my community regarding transportation engineering within the city is that I have noticed that there has been an increase in potholes within the few years. These potholes are very dangerous since they may cause damages to our cars and potentially increase accidents in the future. I believe that the potholes are a key indicator of the measures of performance in which our community needs to build up upon. These potholes are a reason as to why we have rough street surfaces. This shows us that within our area the measure of performance tends to be lacking in the quality of our roads here in Los Angeles. We notice that this is due to the constant use of various transportation systems within the city as well as the influence of ground water. These potholes can eventually damage car tires which can puncture the car’s tires. With the car’s tires being punctured this can increase accidents within our community which can potentially kill many innocent civilians.
