Answer any four of the following problems : 2X4=8 () Find the angle between two vector forces of equal magnitude, such that the resultant is one-third as much as either of the original forces. (8) A child pulls a rope attached to a sled with a force of GON, The rope makes an angle of 40° to the ground. i. Compute the effective value of the pull tending to move the sled along the ground, ii, Compute the force tending to lift the sled vertically. The five coplanar forces shown in Figure 1 act on an object. Find the resultant force due to them. {el) Consider the two vectors v = 3i — 2) + 4k and w = i—j + 2k. i. Find the vector u that is perpendicular to both y and w. ii. Find the area of the triangle that has adjacent edges given by v and w. (e) A displacement of D of 100m from the origin at an angle 37° above the x axis is result of three successive displacements : dy, which is 100m along the negative X axis; dy, which is 200m at an angle of 150° above the x axis; and a displacement dy.
