Guidelines for FrontPage 2003 Project
Creating a Personal Web Site
1. Open FrontPage 2003. Create a new site using the Personal Web site template, and put it in
the newly created FrontPageProject folder on your jump drive.
2. Your personal Web site must contain the following pages:
a. Home page (index page). At the bottom of the homepage,
Include a scrolling marquee: “Welcome to my Web Site. I hope you enjoy the visit.”
Type “Last Date Updated: Today’s Date”. You need to insert the date so that it will
be refreshed every time you modify your Web site.
b. Academics page:
List your courses taken at Longwood in a table.
Create a page transition on this page.
Insert a small image of Longwood at the bottom of the page and create an image
map. Put the text “Longwood University” on the center of the map.
c. Resume page: Put your resume here. Also, put your e-mail address link on this page.
d. Life on Longwood Campus page:
Include several paragraphs and activities that you participated at Longwood.
Add a light-colored picture to the background of this page.
e. High School page:
Write several paragraphs about your high school. Insert an image of your high
school, write the name of your high school on top of the image, and align the image
[tight] with the text.
Import ONLY the homepage of high school.
Put a link on your High School page and hyperlinked it to the above imported page.
f. Hobbies/Interest page:
Use WortArt to create a title for this page.
Use a photo gallery to store several photos. Include captions for the photos. You
must compress all your photos before putting them on your Web site.
Create a thumbnail picture below the photo gallery.
Include several hyperlinks to some Web sites that are of interest to you.
3. Use a light color background and select an appropriate theme for your Web site.
4. Preview your FrontPage project.
5. Publish your FrontPage project to your personal Web server at
https://webdav.longwood.edu/FrontPageProject/YourEmailID

publishing:
6. Go to Blackboard and submit your URL (http://lancer.longwood.edu/YourEmailID) to the
Assignments Folder:
7. Submit this instruction sheet to your instructor for grading.
NOTE: You must add or edit some of the Web pages created, and you must remove any Web pages
that you don’t need or use.
