Introduction The internet has created a new universe for its users known as the “cyberspace”. (Gibson, 1984). The cyberspace provides users a virtual conducive environment to socialise, play games,

exchange ideas and acquire higher education opportunities like UoPeople offers my colleagues and I. Again the social and educational use of the cyberspace, it has also create room transaction of business. This has made it easy for corporate bodies to advertise their products and service to the masses. Netizens, a term used to describe habitual users of the internet, live a great deals of their lives on the cyberspace. Why Netiquette? As social etiquettes, which are courtesies people who respect each other afford themselves in everyday life, it is imperative on netizens to also be accorded the same courtesies to their acquaintances on the cyberspace. Netiquette, refers to the right use of internet by employing decorum, manners and other socially accepted values is important. The following are some beneficial reason for netiquette;  To create a safe environment to socialise – People are able to relate better with others, when they feel at peace within themselves and their environment. Thus, when there is decorum in the cyberspace, it creates trust and remove barriers which does not promote socialisation.  To promote and improve intuitive and creative ideas – Social values encourages people to think critically to help solve challenges of society. Like Facebook and other social media application netizens, intuitively swap ideas to creatively develop useful products and services there is decorum.

 Bad netiquette towards others may make them either withdraw, drop a course or in the worst case scenario dropping out from the college or institution. Relation between Peer Assessment and Its Importance on Assessment Feedback Since, UoPeople is strictly an online college, it imperative on its student to apply netiquette in all their interactions and activities including peer assessments. Students are supposed to accord each other full respect and offer welcoming suggestions and recommendation when leaving feedbacks, so that they (receivers) may be encouraged to make changes and improve on their response and submission. I am comfortable and feel confident that, the feedback I received and gave is going to help improve my responses and feedback to others and going to improve the others’ responses in future respectively, because they were decorous.
