Eye Infection: A gentle approach treating microbial keratitis
In this article examines about how Microbial infections of the cornea can have serious
consequences, including blindness in the worst case. The treatment of keratitis is a condition
caused by certain pathogens, always presents major challenges to ophthalmologists. These
corneal infections frequently cannot be successfully treated with the therapies currently
available. Researchers are pursuing a new approach: contact lenses with germicidal properties
could offer an alternative to conventional therapies and also the healing treatment of it. Initial
tests in the laboratory and on donor corneas were victorious.
There about two contact lenses need in the treatment microbial keratitis. The first contact
lense is the soft lense which cause Acanthamoeba keratitis. In the early stages Acanthamobea
keratitis are unexpected. The eye turns red, waters and suffers complain to blurry vision to the
eye. After about five weeks, the eye becomes in severe pain throughout the symptoms that are
followed. This gives out a sign through the nerve cells damaging them. This disease of
Acanathamobea only appears on just one eye. Diagnosis must be started and treatments are very
huge and important for this disease that is on the eye, because if it does not start on the
treatment, it will begin stages of infection and later into blindness. Researchers from Beuth
University wrote a thesis on the approach of the gentle therapies that does not require the
antibiotics. Contact lenses treated with plasma could turn out be a positive alternative. Back
several years ago, Germicide has been a success for the treatment in skin diseases. The senses of
the contact lenses made the lenses to develop with the germicidal properties. They prevent the
amboae from multiplying and spread out to the part of the eye.
Bacterial keratitis is rare in the absence of predisposing factors.5,6 Until recently, most
cases of bacterial keratitis were associated with ocular trauma or ocular surface diseases.
However, the widespread use of contact lenses has dramatically increased the incidence of
contact lens related keratitis. The spectrum of bacterial keratitis can also be influenced by
geographic and climatic factors. In recent years the literature extensively addressed this issue but
only a few publications reviewed large series of patients with bacterial keratitis. Little
information is available on the frequency of factors predisposing to bacterial keratitis and on the
demographic characteristics of those patients. The aim of the study was to identify predisposing
factors and to define clinical and microbiological characteristics
