Senior Comprehensive Requirement: Once a student is in senior standing and has completed Ling 50, 53, 101, and 112 , they satisfy the Senior Exit Requirement by one of these methods: pass an upper-division LING exit course, complete a senior thesis (with Dept. approval), or pass a LING graduate-level course (with Dept. approval, e.g. LING 221). Rule of Three: Students may take up to three courses in the outside category: can be approved study abroad courses, approved UCSC outside courses, courses from other institutions, or one approved indep. study. These can count toward upper div. electives, but not Senior Exit Course.
