Q1. (a) Figure 1 shows a system to automatically fill seeds through a metering tank. The seed contained in the silo is released through the valve (y1) when the metering tank is empty. Filling proceeds until the metering tank is full. The metering tank then empties its contents into a container through the valve (y2). When the correct quantity is placed in the container the metering tank is refilled. Once the container is filled the motor runs to place the next container for filling. The operation is controlled by switch S1, however, once a filling operation has begun it must be completed. Using a Ladder diagram write a PLC program to implement a solution. State any assumptions that you have made. [20 marks]
