Laboratory Assignment #9: Counters - Objectives and Procedures - Prof. Johnny W. Wortham, Lab Reports of Microelectronic Circuits

The objectives and procedures for laboratory assignment #9 focused on counters. It includes detailed explanations and logic diagrams for the operation of modulus 16, modulus 13, and modulus 60 counters using a 7493 chip. Each procedure step covers the counter's operation, required pin connections, and concluding statements.

LABORATORY ASSIGNMENT #9
COUNTERS
Objective
State the lab’s objective(s) here.
Procedure
1. Thoroughly describe Procedure step1. Give an explanation of the operation of the
Modulus 16 counter. Give a logic diagram using a “picture” of the 7493 chip. Show all
required pin connections. Make some concluding statement(s) about this circuit. State
any problems you encountered.
2. Thoroughly describe Procedure step 2. Discuss the RESET METHOD. Give an
explanation of the operation of the Modulus 13 counter. Give a logic diagram using a
“picture” of the 7493 chip and any external gates required. Show all required pin
connections. Make some concluding statement(s) about this circuit. State any problems
you encountered.
3. Thoroughly describe Procedure step 3. Give an explanation of the operation of the
Modulus 60 counter. Give a detailed logic diagram showing each pin connection of
each chip (including the 7-segment displays). Do not just use the block diagram on
page 30 of the Lab Manual. Make some concluding statement(s) about this circuit. State
any problems you encountered.
