CPET1104 Microcomputer Applications
Word Processing with MS Word
Lab Exercise 4
Applicable Program Outcomes, Course Outcomes, and Learning Objectives: PO-3, CO-5,
LO-6.
The objective of these word processing exercises is to help you develop skills in using the
computer to write letters, reports and other documents.
Complete the steps in Project One “Thrilling Speeds … Roaring Crowds” beginning on page WD
4 and continuing on through page WD 62 which will result in the finished document shown on
page WD 5. Carefully follow the instructions in those sections of the text describing what to do
on your computer; these sections are marked by white numbers inside of red boxes. Where text
material is not marked with these numbered boxes, there are no computer activities to perform;
just read this material so that you will better understand what you are to do on the computer.
Before printing your completed document on page WD 53, type your name in a small font (e.g.,
10 point) somewhere near the bottom of the document. Before printing any output you should
first perform a “Print Preview” to judge the suitability of your output before wasting
printer resources. All of the information for each document should fit on one page, so you
may need to adjust font size and/or the picture size slightly.
Complete the exercise “Come One … Come All” on pages WD 67 - WD 68. Before printing this
document, be sure you have typed your name somewhere at the bottom of the document.
Prepare a cover sheet for your work on a separate page consisting of the following information:
Your Name
Course and Section
Date Submitted
Lab Exercise 4
Project One
Content:
Thrilling Speeds … Roaring Crowds
Come One … Come All
You are encouraged to use any font of any size to make the cover sheet legible and attractive.
Turn in: the Cover Sheet, Thrilling Speeds … Roaring Crowds (WD
4 – WD 62) and Come One … Come All (WD 67 – WD 68) with a
single staple in the upper left hand corner of your work.
