Kelley American Intercontinental University Abstract There are many cloud providers offering an almost enumerable degree of products and services. Cloud Providers ITNA359-1602A- Unit 4 Individual Project Introduction For this assignment I have chosen three cloud providers I have used extensively. As an avid supporter of the economic and environmental benefits of cloud computing, I was assigned as the research lead in my organization with the job of evaluating cloud solution for integration into our current schoolhouse infrastructure. Most of my recommendation are accepted at not just my immediate regional level, but across the entire five brother school houses in the United States. Cloud Service Providers Microsoft IT Academy
Cloud Providers
Microsoft provides and comprehensive online training academy available to both individuals and organizations. Headquartered in Redmond Washington Microsoft IT Academy provides basic through advanced IT Training in Microsoft Products and Services and certification training in every product and service they offer. MSITA is completely cloud based, providing guided lesson plans in video format, virtual labs, and practice exams. (Microsoft, 2016) Microsoft Once Drive: Microsoft One drive comes in two versions. The first is a 1 TB offering for private use and publically available in a free and paid version. The second offering “One Drive for Business” is only similar is that it provides the same storage and sharing capabilities, but is based on Microsoft SharePoint Services via Office 365 for Business. This version provides more granular control over storage spaces, sharing capabilities, and security methods for better integration into a business infrastructure (Outlook.com, 2016) Microsoft Azure Microsoft Azure is a multi-purpose cloud platform which provides everything from virtual server deployment to application development services including repositories. After experimenting with Azure, I discovered that Azure provides preconfigured infrastructure servers such as Active Directory, Exchange Mail services, and several other platforms such as SharePoint and Hyper-V Core services for personalized VM deployments. Azure is the principal competitor with Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud Platform. (Microsoft, 2016) Network Troubleshooting At the most basic level of cloud related troubleshooting, connectivity is the most likely issue to need troubleshooting. To that end, two such tools are Traceroute and Ping. Traceroute provides the ability to trace the route or path between one network device to a target endpoint such as a cloud server or application. Ping allows us to send packets to an endpoint IP address or network
cloud services provide enhanced levels such as VPN requirements and more advanced encryption algorithms. Recommendation I chose the Microsoft solutions for both personal and private use. As I have already discussed earlier, I covered three products addressing education, storage, and infrastructure. Though Microsoft does face some stiff competition in all three areas, Microsoft is definitely a responsible company and provider of cloud services that meet just about any personal or commercial need. Microsoft IT Academy because of the quality of the instruction; Microsoft Azure because of its ease of use and wide product offering; and finally Microsoft Onedrive for its large storage capability, data encryption, and ease of deployment.
