typed, double-spaced : How, specifically, did Coles’s parents influence his attitude and involvement in
service ?
Reading Assignment: Chapter 1: Method, pp. 1-30 Writing Assignment: 1-2 paragraphs, typed, double-
spaced: What does Coles mean when he says, “…I write as a witness trying to do justice through
narration to lives I have met that have been instructive, lives that have made a difference in the lives of
others, lives called to action in different ways and for various reasons and for varying lengths of time.”
