In your group, draft your initial lesson plan using the format below. Structure your plan
using this outline format. Be sure to address each section clearly and concisely with
complete sentences where appropriate. You will turn in one plan (maximum page limit of 3
pages not including appendixes) per group with all group members’ names included.
A. Lesson Title (3 points)
needs to be catchy and provide focus to the poster presentation
B. Target audience (4 points)
clearly defined and including educational, interest, and knowledge levels
C. General process objectives (5 points)
These are what you, as the educator, will do to help the learner learn.
Should be written as a detailed checklist
D. Specific learner outcome objectives (5 points)
These are what you, as the educator, want the learner to be able to do or know
after completing your program, i.e. visiting your booth.
Need to written as objectives, including the relevant conditions, the action, and
the standard of performance.
A maximum of 2 measurable learner outcomes.
E. Procedure (15 points total)
a. Introduction (2)
How will you introduce the topic?
b. Body of the lesson (10)
What background information (i.e. knowledge and/or references) will help
the educator in completing the lesson plan? This will be written as a brief
(2-3 paragraph) mini review of literature. You will need to include at
least four references (maximum of 2 from the web and all MUST include
the name of the author)
How is the lesson organized? Timing of activities?
c. Closure (3)
Summary of the lesson in one-two sentences.
Reinforcing key nutrition messages.
F. Learning experiences or activities (7 points)
Listing AND example of activities used, including a drawing of the poster
presentation, handouts (self-developed and/or ready made), evaluation
documents, and/or pamphlets used. The purpose/relevance of each activity must
be shared.
G. Method of Evaluation (5 points)
How will you know that the learner outcomes were achieved?
H. Listing of all materials needed to make the poster presentation and to present (6
points)
