The Provincial ARM Council wishes to recognize an ARM Chapter Newsletter Editor who has demonstrated outstanding efforts in developing a newsletter for their ARM Chapter that combines the categories of content, visual appeal and engagement.
The award is named after Ian Cameron, one of the initial members of ARM Council. For over 15 years, Ian held many positions in ARM Chapter 12, Toronto, including serving as Chapter President for 10 years and working on the production of the Chapter 12’s newsletter, After School. He was a strong advocate for OSSTF/FEESO retirees, including the area of pensions and benefits, and assisted many Districts in developing their own ARM Chapters.
The award, which consists of a certificate, is presented biennially at the ARM Biennial Conference.
To be eligible for the Ian Cameron ARM Newsletter Award, the nominee must:
An Editor will not be eligible to win the Ian Cameron Newsletter Award at consecutive ARM Biennial General Meetings.
In judging, equal weight will be given to the three categories: content, visual appeal and engagement. These categories will be defined as follows:
The Director of the Communications and Political Action Department and the Secretariat Liaison(s) to ARM Council will review the submissions and make a selection.
The ARM Council Chair will send a letter of congratulations to the winning Editor with a copy to the ARM Chapter President.
