Course Rationale: (700 – 1000 words) Here you need to include:

 why you have chosen this syllabus type

 why you have chosen the topic(s) covered

 why you have chosen this target language/skill

 the rationale behind the structure of the course, e.g. why is it in this order?

 how the course will meet the learner’s needs

I chose the Multi-Syllabus as the student needs help with multiple skills this allows for me to use any type of authentic materials available to source from internet or create myself, the activities can be played around with depending on the students progress as we go along, once I see the student needs are met I can focus on where he is still struggling, this also allows for student to give input as to what he would like to do more of and I will be able to meet his needs. Evaluating the questionnaire from student the topics are according to his needs and likes as he is interested in Current affairs, environment, Science and Technology. Using these topics will keep my student motivated and interested in the syllabus, therefore getting results. Topics include current affairs (Covid-19 in Spain) environment (global warming) jobs (interview and cv assistance including a role- play) Science (the science behind Covid-19 ) Vocabulary ( we will constantly increase his vocabulary needs and understanding. Target Skills are pronunciation, listening and Speaking. This is in the needs analysis questionnaire and student is very specific on skills he needs to improve in. This is what teacher will focus on. we will apply all the needs in the syllabus based on students required skills. Structure of the course will enable teacher to see that the student is engaging with L2 in all the areas (skills) needed also able to be flexible with syllabus as student progresses. Speaking and listening small talk, By the end of the lesson student will have developed their listening and speaking skills by speaking to T about where they might want to travel from video provided.
