Walt Witman was a supporter of ethnic cleansing manifestations.
He was a part of the free soul movement, fighting against the expansion
of slavery.
American writers tried to show that they are against slavery.
Anti-abolitionist.
He is often called the father of free verse. There are no restrictions occur
in the poem, also there is no rhyme scheme.
His well-known work is Leaves of Grass 1855.
The main themes of Leaves of Grass are Democracy, nature, love and
Friendship.
By the time of Whitman, they started inventiveness with language,
through individual neologizing and provincial variant usages.
Poem summary and analysis
Whitman’s love towards America, Whitman has not addressed the
racists.
The very culture of America is depicted in the poem., the entire
catalogue of various workers in America can be understood.
The different people who settled in America have a specific
profession and are united as one American.
The poem describes the people who make up America, The
carpenters, the shoe makers, the mothers and the seamstressers.

I hear America singing – Walt Witman

 Walt Witman was a supporter of ethnic cleansing manifestations.  He was a part of the free soul movement, fighting against the expansion of slavery.  American writers tried to show that they are against slavery.  Anti-abolitionist.  He is often called the father of free verse.  They are strong and young. Their work is endless, they are struggling hard to make America a strong nation; economically and culturally.  Each person is identified as an American, yet each of them is noted as an individual too.  There is a nationalistic spirit.  “I” in the poem means the nation as a whole. America stands for every individual.  Whitman's ideal woman is first and always a mother.  Everyone has a role in the development of America, men and women. The poem also says about the right to liberty.  Culture and political echoes in Walt Witmans works.  The works such as blithe, robust, melodious, friendly etc show the optimistic view of the poet.  Personification can be seen in the tile of the poem. America is personified as if it can sing.
