open an on line pet store in
association with one of the non-
profit groups that rescues
abandoned pets. Please create a
comprehensive list of the hardware
and software that you would need
to develop your website to support
this sort of e-commerce operation.
Assuming you only had one web
page to describe your concept and
business model (such as your
index page in the web assignment)
what three or four key elements
would you include and why would
you include each?
A list of hardware and software needed
to develop this e-business website would
be: Supply chain management systems,
customer relationship management
systems, enterprise resource management
systems, groupware, electronic storefront
software, electronic catalog software, e-
mail client software, database
management systems, workflow
management software, web server
software, application server software and
content management software. Hardware
platforms that I would have would be:
Network access devices, server hardware,
mainframe computers, switches, routers,
and load balancers. Some of the elements
I would include would be all the
hardware elements because you need that
to keep the website running, electronic
storefront software because it provides
access to buy things from the website,
and electronic catalog software because
without it you cannot show your products
to the customer.
