Gabriella Carusone ELDS 330- Visualization I Professor Ming Tang Spring 2006 Final Project Proposal My final project for Visualization I in Electronic Design will be a preliminary “mock-up” of my interior design portfolio. The primary goal of this assignment is to illustrate, especially to my target viewers, my (educational) experience in the interior design field. My portfolio will demonstrate my skills in hand drafting, sketching, rendering, space planning, etc. My vision for this assignment is to create a sleek and elegant portfolio that is both visually interesting and professional. I intend on using little color for the overall design of my portfolio (perhaps only a mixture of black and white), thereby allowing my colorful pieces of work to speak on their own. The content area of my final project involves works from my previous interior design classes, all of which will best describe my capabilities in the field. The works to be included are projects from: Studio II, IV, V, my rendering class and items from my personal work. All work included in my final project will ultimately be featured in my final (professional) portfolio. The “defining elements” of my project include a personalized logo, a strong linear layout (inspired by the works of Piet Mondrian) and a multitude of contrasting colors, all characteristics that will hopefully help add interest to my portfolio. My final project will include work ranging from studio projects (floor plans and perspectives) and concept/preliminary sketches to marker vignettes and furniture design. My target audience is predominantly the firms with which I wish to work for upon my graduation from the Savannah College of Art and Design. I hope to target large, corporate firms, particularly those who specialize in some aspect of transportation design. I will obtain most of my information from myself, as well as from my professors who will aid me in successfully developing my portfolio for my target audience. Additionally, I will obtain inspiration from various magazines and observe their various page layouts, as well as particular graphic design.
