three methods of control used by organisations. Use diagrams where possible.

2. ‘Management is a set of activities directed at an organisation’s resources, with the aim of
achieving organisational goals in an efficient and effective manner’ (Griffin, 1999). Discuss.

3. (a) Explain the advantages and disadvantages of using groups, rather than individuals, to
make some of the organisation’s decisions. (10 Marks)
(b) Detail three techniques used in group decision-making. (9 Marks)
(c) Briefly discuss three behavioural factors that influence decision-making. (6 Marks)

(b) Why is planning seen as a vital component of an organisation’s success? (4 Marks)

  1. (a) Discuss, with the aid of diagrams where possible, three of the following motivation theories:
    • Goal-Setting theory
    • Dual Structure Theory
    • Expectancy Theory
