number of crimes its function is simply to enforce a moral principle and nothing else."

"The criminalization of the smoking of marijuana is another example of the law's
insistence on enforcing morality, rather` than controlling behaviour that is harmful to the
society."

Abbott is a gangland boss. He is in hospital under high security. Bogus wishes his death because
he wants to take over Abbot's operations. Bogus approaches Connolly who is a computer hacker.
Connolly had previously hacked into his high school computer system and given himself a pass
in his final year subjects. Bogus threatens to tell the high school if Connolly does not hack into the
hospital system and stop Abbot's medication. He also threatens to kill Connolly's girlfriend.
Connolly does as he is told and changes the instructions on the computer for administering
Abbott's medication.

  1. Alan and Bertram, who were well-known criminals, decided to rob a bank: Alan's friend Cooper

tells Alan that he wishes to join^ the gang, but he does not think he is ready for armed robbery. Alan

and Bertram assure Cooper that they will not be armed and Cooper agrees to go along "for the ride".

Alan and Bertram successfully rob the bank, but upon leaving the bank Alan is confronted by a security guard. Bertram sees the confrontation and pulls out a gun that he had hidden in his parka and shoots the security guard, killing him.

Cooper screams from the car "come on, let's go "^ and Alan, Bertram and Cooper drive off.

Discuss the criminal responsibility of Alan, Bertram and Cooper.
