1. The moral of the story is that the owner of the business employed effective
leadership, to manage and maintain control and profitability of the business.
2. It could be unachievable to maintain an effective leadership style if the CLIFF had
gone bankrupt. The firm wouldn’t be able to achieve its employment and
environmental values due to the high cost. This leadership style is only achievable if
the firm increase revenue to afford to put in place to current employment and
environmental policies.
3. CLIF Bar authenticity is express through its employment and environment politics,
this done through the concept base leadership style. For example; the lead/manager is
self-ware of his moral of the business. This has led to firm to develop new
management policies to empower and to create great job satiation for its employees
e.g. building new facilities for employees to help maintain a healthy life style. This
was help satisfy Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. This also shows a Theory Y approach
as argued by McGregor’s (1960) Theory X and Y. This has helped CLIF be named
one of the “Best Place to Work”. CLIF Bar authenticity is express through
environment politics, through the use of incentive for employees to use environmental
friendly transport, such as cycling, better environmentality friendly cars adapting its
offices to more sustainable energy and reducing environment damage caused by it
production by signing up for Rainforest Alliance Certified Farm. The firm continues
to take action and invocative ways towards being a company that values and takes
actions toward sustaining the planet. This allow for the business to complete with
larger competition as it provides the firms products with a USP which differentiates
from the competition. This could also allow the firm to target new niche markets and
grow other over looked market segments, help it grow and increase revenue.
