History

“The Art of War” is w ri#en by Chinese general Sun Tzu in the 6th century BC. A military strategy book that, recommending awareness of and ac@ng on strengths and weaknesses of own and compe@ng organiza@ons. The Indian, Chanakya wrote the trea@se Arthashastra around 300B, adressing issues such as statecraE, economic policy and military strategy. This has oEen been compared to Niccolò Machiavelli´s The Prince from 1513. Machiavelli believed that people were mo@vated by self-­‐interest, and recommended that leaders use fear—but not hatred—to maintain control. Adam Smith, John Stuart Mill etc.
