How to Become a Coating Inspector ✔✔To become a coating inspector, complete the Coating Inspector Program (CIP) offered by NACE International. There are two levels of certification. The CIP level 1 certification is for inspectors who perform basic, non-destructive inspections. Obtain this certification by completing the required NACE exams. CIP level 2 certification requires two years of experience in the field, as well as completion of the NACE exams.
CIP Level 1 NACE-CIP1-001 - Coatings Inspector Program Level 1 ✔✔CIP Level 1 covers the technical and practical fundamentals of coating inspection work. Students will be prepared to perform basic coating inspections using non-destructive techniques and instrumentation.
