Section

Recap from Yesterday...

1. Charging by friction involves two objects that are

originally...

a. both charged

b. one charged, one neutral

c. both neutral

d. both a and b can apply

2. Charging by conduction involves two objects that are

originally...

a. both charged

b. one charged, one neutral

c. both neutral

d. both a and b can apply

If an object is positively charged it will induce

electrons in the neutral object to move towards it

If an object is negatively charged it will induce

electrons in the neutral object to move away from it

After the electrons shift position, the neutral object will be

attracted to the charged object

the neutral object doesn't gain or loose electrons

Charging Objects Permanently by

Induction

We can do this by grounding the object that's being

charged

Example: Pith Ball! Fancy Smartboard drawing time!
