Racial Profiling

DEFINITION 10 The stopping and/or detaining of individuals by law enforcement officers based solely on race.

Internal Affairs Investigations Unit

The police unit that ferrets out illegal and unethical activity engaged in by the police. TERM 17

DEFINITION 17 The systematic use of terror or unpredictable violence against governments, publics, or individuals to attain a political objective; the unlawful use of force and violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof in futherance of political or social objectives; or premeditated, politcally motivated violence perpetrated against noncombatant targets by subnational groups or clandestine agents, usually intented to influence an audience. DEFINITION 19 Violent acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or any state, or that would be a criminal violation if committed within the jurisdiction of the United States or any state. These acts appear to be intended to intimidate or coerce a civilian population, influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion, or affect the conduct of a government by assassionation or kidnapping.
