These might be your rst thoughts if you - for real - were to nd yourself in the following
imaginary scenario. Now to be sure this can't happen -- this is just a thought experiment.
The Scenario:
You are being held captive by an evil scientist. The evil scientist plans to destroy one area of
your brain and then set you free. You get to choose the area. Which brain area would you
choose and why? Be sure to be very specic in your selection of an area and make sure that
you refer to particular page numbers from the text when responding. You should be very clear
as to the particular types of problems you would expect to experience. Finally elaborate on
why and how you expect to be able to deal with these problems eectively.
Instructions:
1. Read assignment instructions
2. Read the "Biological Psychology" chapter with this assignment in mind
3. Compose a thoughtful reply to assignment in a word document
4. 1-2 pages approx. 250 - 500 words --using Times New Roman 12pt.
5. Title headers to distinguish between sections of assignment are required
6. Use textbook only. Do not use outside / web-based sources
7. Edit and proofread document
8. Save as a .doc or .docx le (no Apple.pages documents) as “Makeup # 1_your
rstname.lastname” (no quotes – plug in your rstname.lastname)
9. Keep a copy for your records
10. Click on E-centennial assignment link “Makeup # 1” and upload document
11. Do not email assignments to instructor - you must use Blackboard submission link to
submit assignments - emailed assignments will not be graded.
Evaluation:
Makeup # 1 is worth up to 5 points (5% of your nal mark in this course).
You will be evaluated on the following factors:
Knowledge
Insight
Style - Clarity of communication
Attention to instructions and Overall quality
Note:
The point of this assignments is to show the integration of assigned course materials
through its thoughtful application to a given scenario.
In your answer citations from the textbook are required and, as applicable, reference to
research / case examples can be powerful ways to back up your arguments.
