Question 1. Find a graph of a function in the newspaper or on the web. Print it out and glue it to a piece of paper. Below the graph, answer the following questions:
(a) What is the input (usually on the horizontal axis) and the output (usu- ally on the vertical axis)?
(b) Why is what you provided the graph of a function? That is, verify that above every input there is at most one output.
(c) What is the domain and range of this function? That is, what are the admissible inputs (i.e., domain) and possible outputs (i.e., range)?
(d) What are some other adjectives that you could use to describe your graph? Be as creative or descriptive as possible.
Question 2. Draw the graph of something that relates to your life. For example, one could graph their height or weight as a function of their age; for your example, however, do not choose these. Choose something else that is a bit more creative. Answer questions (a)-(d) from Question 1 for your graph.
