An over the counter drug that has Betalain is beetroot extract capsules. It

helps to treat lipdimia. It is an option that is very similar to a drug like metformin, but it is natural. Interesting Vacuoles

  1. Use the internet to research Alliinase (do not use Wikipedia). What is it? Where is it located? What does it do? Hint, hint, what does it have to do with a vacuole? Paste the link to your source. Alliinase us an enzyme that is found in garlic. It catalyses the synthesis of allicin. It is located in the cytoplasm, more specifically in the vacuoles. People use this because they believe that it has antitumor properties. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2708034/
  2. Use the internet to research the vacuole found the in the protist Genus Paramecium. What is its function in this organism? Copy and paste an image of a Paramecium and label the vacuole. Paste the link to your source. The vacuole in the Genus Paramecium is used in order to control the water content in the cell. It also allows for excretion of wastes through the water that gets expelled through the vacuoles. https://www.britannica.com/science/Paramecium
  3. Use the internet to research the vacuole found in Cyanobacteria. What is the function of their vacuole? Why would they need this function given their environment? Paste the link to your source.
