NURS 683: This 4 unit clinical
course provides students the
opportunity to concurrently
apply theoretical concepts from
Graduate Leadership and
financial management courses.
Course Objectives address SLO
2. Successful achievement of
the assignments include ten
comprehensive journals,
addressing multiple leadership
and management topics that
impact quality of healthcare at
the organizational and/or
systems level.
All students successfully met the
course objectives, demonstrated
by successful completion of
each assignment.
Excerpts from Clinical Journals
demonstrate achievement of
SLO#2, reflecting an increased
understanding of nursing
leadership, senior leadership
decision making, building self-
confidence in leadership,
understanding of board level
decision making, quality
initiatives, and utilization
management.
The leadership clinical course
objectives and assignments will
continue to be evaluated for
content and whether the
expectations for the journals
address the Course Objectives.
2015-2016
SLO # 4: Translate and apply
evidence-based research in
nursing practice.
This SLO was measured across
three courses NURS 620, NURS
660 and NURS 697P. These
three courses are all research
based courses in which students
work on an evidenced based
solution to a problem identified
within the nursing professional
work setting.
An emphasis was placed on
student achievement and
success with focusing on one
section of the paper per course.
This has been most helpful. We
have had a substantial
improvement in students
graduating from our MSN
program in a timely manner. We
had our biggest graduation class
this past year in the history of
our program.
We will re-examine the clarity of
our language in our SLOs.
Refinement would be helpful to
better be able to measure our
SLOs with just one concept per
SLO that can be quantitatively
measured.
2014-2015
SLOS for the Masters of Science
in Nursing, for 2014-2015 were
assessed through aggregate
data collected. Included are:
End of Course Evaluations;
An end-of- Course Survey has
been developed and was
implemented at the end of the
Spring 2015, semester, to be
used for each course taken.
Results of the end-of-course
surveys are being compiled and
will be presented to the
Graduate committee for
evaluation.
Based upon results from the
2013 graduate survey, and from
input from current MSN
students, students beginning
with the fall 2015 semester have

2016 - 2017 SLO #2: Students Utilize leadership skills to influence the quality of health care at the organizational and/or systems level. NURS 683: This 4 unit clinical course provides students the opportunity to concurrently apply theoretical concepts from Graduate Leadership and financial management courses.   1. Successful achievement of the assignments include ten comprehensive journals, addressing multiple leadership and management topics that impact quality of healthcare at the organizational and/or systems level. All students successfully met the course objectives, demonstrated by successful completion of each assignment. Feedback from Class representatives on the Graduate committee; and Post Graduate Surveys. Post-graduation surveys will be compiled this semester. begun the newly developed Culminating Project in place of the previously required thesis. 2013 - 2014 Individual SLOs were not specifically assessed this year. Preparations were made for professional accreditation.
