Application: Network Plan At first I was a little confused as to how this assignment was supposed to be accomplished. I did a good bit of reading on how a network is typically setup through both the textbook and online sources and I think I understand a little better now. This concept is key to understanding the basics of how a network operates and I was surprised to learn how little I actually knew about basic networking. My network plan could be applied to almost any home network or even office network. It is pretty versatile and allows for a lot of different options for the users or network administrator. It utilizes and assumes that all wired connections are fiber-optic, allowing for incredibly fast transfer of data and information. For a home network, fiber optic is not exactly necessary as the traffic and bandwidth used is not going to be as high as an office. This kind of network has both a software and hardware firewall. Software firewalls would be in place at the end nodes as well as an integrated, or separate firewall placed within the router/modem. Here they are displayed as
