The opposite strategy of “keeping employees on edge” is that of “care and compassion people strategy”. While keeping the employees on the edge it creates pressure on the employees and thus sometimes it leads to employee turnover. Employer branding is something that describes about the reputation of employer and their workplace pattern and their EVP and not the corporate reputation or value proposition to the customers. It is quite a setback for an organization when its employees start preferring other concerns as a better place to work for. Loss of experienced and skilled employees to a competitor results in severe consequences, ranging from demoralization of current workforce to reduced productivity. It is a major loss of intellectual and human capital. Keeping these perspectives in mind, organizations have started implementing various strategies to maintain a stable workforce. Currently amazon is using the strategy of working at the edge which led to high employee turnover. With this also amazon is doing financially well so here comes the question why amazon should change its policy to care and compassion people strategy. In my view, if amazon use the policy of care and compassion it would lead to low employee turnover rate. As the employee turnover rate also affects the financial conditions and it increases the cost of company as they have to keep recruiting the new people. While recruiting the new people in every short span of time it leads to more expenses on recruitment. If there will be the low employee turnover low cost will be of recruitment and it helps in increasing the profit of the company. Even when new employee is recruited, they takes some time to understand their work and gets settled in the new workplace and if the moment they gets settled and starts giving their output and due to workplace environment or very high pressure they leaves the job that is a loss to company. For any organisation how
much it is important to recruit a talented employee it is equally important to keep that employee to your organisation and do not provide them with a reason to move to other organisation.
